  1. Hah! I think the most important thing is “letting it out.” If you can let that feeling or idea or experience “out” of your head, you can put it into a larger space where you can stand back from it and look at it from the outside. We all have the capability of rising above our own experiences (and those of others) and looking at them with an external viewpoint. It is therapeutic to do this, and I think that is why writing is therapeutic.
