Cut Deep

The pain cuts deep, a wound unseen

Lost and hurt, I try to glean

A way forward, to heal and mend

But the ache persists, it does not end

I mourn the loss of what once was

A love that’s gone, now just because

Of things unsaid, or left undone

I wish I could go back, and be someone

Who knew how to love, and how to care

Who could have saved us, from this despair

Now all that’s left, is this elegy

A tribute to what once was, but now must be

Laid to rest, and let go of

The pain and hurt, that once was love

May we find peace, in the memories we keep

And solace in the knowledge, that love runs deep.

While being deep in cuts of pain.
