I want to be needed, to feel wanted
To know that my presence is valued and granted
To be the one that someone can rely on
Through thick and thin, from dusk till dawn

It’s not about attention or praise
But the feeling of being useful in many ways
To be a shoulder to cry on in times of sorrow
And a source of joy, hope, and strength for tomorrow

It’s the little things that make my heart soar
A simple “thank you” or a knock on my door
A smile, a hug, a sincere word of appreciation
That fills my soul with love and admiration

Here I am, a humble and willing friend
Ready to support and encourage till the end
For I believe that we all need someone to lean on
And I am grateful to be that someone, before I’m gone

A flavor that I can’t control,
I’m as fiery as a jalapeno,
A burst of flavor in every scenario.

My words are like cayenne pepper,
A bit of heat that makes life better,
I’m the cinnamon in your tea,
A little bit of sweetness, just for me.

I’m the turmeric in your curry,
A touch of magic that’s never blurry,
My personality is like ginger,
A little bit of tang that will linger.

Embrace my spice, let it shine,
I’m full of flavor, I’m divine,
I’m the chili in your hot sauce,

Cut Deep

The pain cuts deep, a wound unseen

Lost and hurt, I try to glean

A way forward, to heal and mend

But the ache persists, it does not end

I mourn the loss of what once was

A love that’s gone, now just because

Of things unsaid, or left undone

I wish I could go back, and be someone

Who knew how to love, and how to care

Who could have saved us, from this despair

Now all that’s left, is this elegy

A tribute to what once was, but now must be

Laid to rest, and let go of

The pain and hurt, that once was love

May we find peace, in the memories we keep

And solace in the knowledge, that love runs deep.

While being deep in cuts of pain.

Storms…

There will be bad days, good days, and days where it’s up and down. I know it will be a process, and I will not feel better overnight. This process, this storm I am in, will not last long. Strong winds, heavy rain, hail, lightning, and thunder will not keep me down.

The storm is strong and raging, and I am thankful I am not at the moment. As the storms continue, I will continue to be strong—stronger than the winds, stronger than my battles. I will survive this storm; it is the only way.

I will be calm; I will not rage with the storm. Yes, I am better than that. One day at a time, I tell myself I got this. And I do strength, guidance, and with God.

This storm again will not me down. Strong Black Woman. I Got This!

She lived her life in solitude,
Afraid to give her heart away,
For every time she let someone close
They left her with nothing to say

She was scared of love and all its pain
Of the heartbreak that it brought
So, she built a wall around her heart
And kept her feelings in a knot

She watched as others fell in love
And wanted that bliss, that feeling of love
But the thought of opening her heart up
Was something she couldn’t dismiss

One day she met a special someone
Who saw through her tough facade
And slowly but surely, he broke down her walls
Until she was no longer scared

She learned that love can be a beautiful thing
When shared with the right person
And that taking a chance on love
Is always worth the risk of hurting

So, if you’re scared of love like she once was
Just remember that it’s okay
When you find the right person
All those fears will fade away…..

On this day I will be better than I was yesterday. I feel at peace at the moment, and I want to remain that way throughout the day. Positive thinking, positive mindset. I will not let anyone take me out of my character and stoop to their level. I am in control over the way I respond and act, and I will be happy. Put a smile on my face and carry on with the day. Again happy, positive mindset today. I am thankful for this day, have everything I need, I’m writing and enjoying it.
